You reach Kyra Panagia by boat, or on foot from Spoa — a roughly one-hour downhill walk that calls for hiking shoes and a bit of stamina. There's no paved road, no car park, no sunbed service. There's a beach of fine gravel and a small seasonal tavern. This logistical difficulty is the reason it's still beautiful.
The water at Kyra Panagia is that shade of turquoise that has no exact name in English — a blue-green that turns transparent at the edges and intense further out. The beach is long, relatively sheltered from the Meltemi because it faces east, and at certain times of day, before the boat trips have arrived, you get the feeling of being alone in a place not many know.

There are several boat trips from Pigadia that stop at Kyra Panagia — they leave in the morning, stop for two or three hours, head back in the early afternoon. It's the most convenient way to get there. But if you can do it on foot, it's worth doing. That descent through the silence of the woods, with the sea appearing here and there through the trees, is worth as much as the beach itself.
